I was born and raised in Houston, TX and graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development. After completing my undergraduate degree, I received my Masters of Social Work from the University of Houston with a specialization in mental and behavioral health.

I began my career working at an inpatient psychiatric hospital here in Houston where I spent nearly 5 years working with both adults and adolescents. During my time at the psychiatric hospital, I focused primarily on crisis intervention, psychoeducation, and family therapy. Most recently, I was a therapist in a group practice, Malaty Therapy, where I focused on individual therapy with both adults and adolescents with an array of mental health struggles.

I am certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and trained in a form of evidence-based trauma therapy called Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).

My experiences in both an inpatient and outpatient setting has allowed me to provide personalized care to my clients. I have seen and heard it all – you can’t shock me!

About Me

My Goal

I’ve been in your seat and know how scary it can feel to talk about your struggles, fears, and uncomfortable emotions. Being vulnerable can feel the opposite of what it is – courage. I believe in the power of self-awareness, and it’s one of the very best things we can do for ourselves. We all have personal weaknesses, struggles, and strengths, but only when we acknowledge them, can we empower ourselves. My goal is to provide a safe space for you to process, learn, grow, and ultimately feel better.

My Views

As your therapist, I am not here to tell you what to do or who to be, but I am here to help you discover yourself and what it is that you need to feel whole. There is a way, and I hope to help you find it.

My approach

I provide many different evidence-based therapy approaches depending on your needs: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based, Solution-Focused, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Strengths-Based, and more. One of my favorite and most effective approaches is called Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). ART includes all five components of trauma therapy in just one session. ART is a form of psychotherapy that utilizes bilateral stimulation (i.e. visual via eye movements, tactile via vibration, or audio) to help clients address problems such as depression, anxiety, phobias, and PTSD. It is a very directed and controlled therapy approach that can provide relief from negative trauma-related symptoms in just 1 to 5 sessions. To learn more, request a free 15 minute consultation call with myself or visit ART’s website, https://acceleratedresolutiontherapy.com/.

  • I just wanted to thank you so much for the impact you've made in my life. When I first came to you I was in an extremely bad place in my life and was desperate for some sort of help. I didn't know how to handle these massive amounts of anxiety and sadness/emptiness that I had never been faced with before. Luckily, I picked you as my therapist and I was able to get the help I needed. For the past few months after I stopped therapy, I've been able to use the tips and tricks you taight me to help me take control of my life. My life is so much better thanks to you. I still have bad days of course and sometimes have anxiety attacks, but they are less severe and I am able to get myself out of them faster by using the method of rethinking etc. I always remind myself that I should focus on what I can control BECAUSE OF YOU! I think that's the most important lesson I was taught because there are so many things I worried about that I just didn't have control over, but now I just focus on what I can control! I see my life in a different light now and continuously try to live in a positive mindset despite what hardships come my way...I'm telling you everything you taught me comes in extremely handy...Your voice even narrates IN MY HEAD SOMETIMES telling me that my anxiety is lying to me...I cannot thank you enough for how much you have impacted me. I will forever be grateful.
